Last day to add semester two subjects without penalty - 29 July

Last Day for discontinuation of semester two units - 31 August

BERWICK BOOKSHOP

Students please note the Bookshop has now been relocated to Room G55 (Building 902, Corridor behind the student lounge).

The Bookshop offers stamps (local & international), cartridges for printers, cards & wrapping paper, Monash logo gifts and t-shirts, film for digital videos and much more. The bookshop also sells cloth Monash bags for only $2.95 ea.

The Bookshop is opened from 10 AM - 4 PM



CAREERS AND EMPLOYMENT

Careers and Employment are making some temporary changes to times at the commencement of Semester 2. The new times are as follows:

TIME: 9.30 AM – 4.30 PM
DAY: WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY
PLACE: ROOM 189

For assistance with career planning, interview skills, job search, employment matters, resume and cover, letters, application processes, etc Telephone Christine Prendergast on 9905 3151 for an appointment (mention you are a Berwick Campus student).

COMMUNITY BUILDING RESEARCH SEMINAR

The Community Building Research Seminar was held at Berwick Campus on Wednesday 13 July 2005. The Seminar was attended by 38 participants from State and Local Government, Melbourne University and staff and students from across Monash campuses

Professor Phillip Steele, PVC (Campus Co-ordination) and Academic Director Berwick and Peninsula welcomed the guests. The day consisted of presentations from University Staff and Local and State Government speakers

Speakers included:

  • Professor Al Rainnie – Director of the Institute of Regional Studies, Monash University
  • Dr Bob Birrell - Director of the Centre of Population & Urban Research, Monash University
  • Ms Jennie Lee – Director, Community Services & Ms Janette Green – Manager, Youth and Community Development from the City of Casey.
  • Dr David Adams - Executive Director, Strategic Policy and Research, Department of Victorian Communities

The outcomes of the day included the need to involve the local community with the campus in terms of research and other activities, and also to expand the perceptions of the community about Berwick campus.

FAREWELL TO JULIE MARRIOTT

Staff and students at Berwick campus got together to farewell Julie Marriott from the Faculty of Arts on Friday 15 July 2005. Julie will be moving to Clayton Campus for a year while Megan O’Brien takes over at Berwick
