SHORT COURSES FOR STUDENTS

MUBS education has been hard at work to bring you the following short courses absolutely free of charge!

There is no need to book in advance, just show up in the Student Lounge five minutes before class. The courses started in week 5, and will be concluding at the end of week 13. The courses will recommence at the start of Semester two 2005.

INTERNATIONALISING THE CURRICULUM AT BERWICK

CeLTS is offering a seminar on Internationalising the Curriculum to those staff who wish to evaluate their current curriculum or seek to "internationalise" their teaching. This interactive Seminar will provide information and ideas for internationalising units in a relaxed and informal environment.

The two presenters, Dr Jan Schapper is a Lecturer in the Department of Management and Dr Andrys Onsman is an Education Developer in the Higher Educational Development Unit.

GENERAL SIR JOHN MONASH AWARDS - APPLICATIONS OPEN

These awards are intended by the General Sir John Monash Foundation to be the Australian equivalent of the Rhodes scholarship and are open to Australian citizens graduating/who have graduated from Australian Universities.They give an opportunity for postgraduate study (PhD/DPhil or Professional Masters Degree) at a leading overseas university, commencing in 2006 and provide up to $150,000, Australian income tax exempt, over three years.

There is no upper age limit, but awards will generally favour those whose major contribution to their field and to the community lies ahead of them. In addition to academic excellence, the selection criteria require that applicants should have demonstrated leadership qualities and altruism through community service.
