Faculty of Business and Economics : Bachelor of Business and Commerce/ Bachelor of Communication

The course provides sound business training along with the transferable skills and knowledge gained in communications studies such as writing and editing, critical thinking, and organisation, analysis and research skills.

In the business and commerce component, students study core business units (introductory accounting, business law, introductory microeconomics, business statistics, introduction to management, and marketing theory and practice) and a major specialisation in one of accounting, economics, human resource management, management, marketing, marketing communication (advertising) or tourism.

For the communications major, students undertake media studies; introduction to communication studies and a combination of other communication units to form their major.

Career Opportunities

Depending on their chosen specialisation, graduates can pursue work in a variety of roles including journalism, publishing, editing, writing, public relations, corporate communications, marketing, advertising, multimedia and tourism.
